Charity Orchestral Concert to Support Horsham Matters
Horsham Matters has teamed up with composer Grenville Richard Harding for a fundraising concert in aid of the charity that supports those in hardship in the Horsham district.

The worship concert on October 31st will feature a 60-piece orchestra playing works by Grenville, a Christian pianist and composer who has performed extensively across the UK, from the Royal Festival Hall to Ronnie Scott’s, as well as on TV.
The event will be held at St Mary’s Church, Horsham, at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance (£12 on the door) and are available from the Horsham Matters superstore at Unit 1 Redkiln Close, by calling 0300 124 0204 (option 3), or online at www.horsham-matters.com.
Fundraising officer Paula Daly said the high calibre of musicians and the impressive venue made the event one not to be missed. “The orchestral concert will not only provide a great night’s entertainment, but also help Horsham Matters raise funds ahead of the winter period, when demand for our services increases and those families struggling need support more than ever.”
Since March 2020, Horsham Foodbank has supported its highest ever number of clients, including those who have been furloughed, made redundant or evicted. Requests for help have risen threefold with 2,900 adults and children fed in 2019-20 and 8,500 in 2020-21.
Alongside providing emergency food and shelter, the charity is also tackling the underlying causes that lead to someone seeking assistance, with budgeting support on offer to help clients maximize their income and work towards a sustainable budget.
Paula added: “Financial contributions are crucial to keeping Horsham Matters’ services running, used not just to buy food and toiletries when stocks are low but also to pay operational costs and fuel the vehicles that deliver foodbank sessions and collect food donations.
Any donation, large or small will contribute enormously.”

This year has all been about getting back to normal – and that is indeed the case for the Probus Club of Horsham Arun. Nearly 40 Club members and guests met in September for their annual BBQ at the White Horse pub in Maplehurst on a day of mixed sunshine and showers. And the Club well and truly lived up to the saying.
