Springboard Horsham Overcoming Barriers, Transforming Lives

Springboard is a caring and committed charity that has been supporting the local community for over 30 years. We work with children, young people and families by offering support, inclusive play and leisure opportunities.

We aim to promote inclusion and diversity, improve physical and emotional wellbeing, increase life skills and independence, reduce isolation by helping to build relationships and friendships and provide accessible recreational and leisure opportunities.

SEND Offer
Springboard provides SEND services for children and young people aged 0-25 years in West Sussex and Sutton. Sessions run after school, at evenings and weekends during term time and various full days throughout school holidays.

We offer a range of activities from in-house sessions focussing on sensory play, baking and arts and crafts to sessions in the local community where we put much needed life skills into practice from using public transport, money handling and ordering food. We believe that our sessions encourage independence, social interaction and equal opportunities.

‘Without Springboard our family would be in a very different place emotionally. Springboard gives us time to refresh and face things again with new energy. The opportunity to have some head space and review where we are at. We would be at a total loss without these breaks.

My son had loved the days our he has been able to access that we would struggle to do as a family but most of all he loves the opportunity to play at Springboard. He has made friends at Springboard, and we love the fact he has somewhere he can play safely with people who get him. A place to play without judgement’ Short Break Parent Quote.

Stay and Play
With opportunities to socialise, explore and improve school readiness, our Centre is ideal for children from birth up to ten years to come and enjoy our stay and play facilities. Our centre has something for everyone including soft play, sensory room, a role play room and a fully equipped kitchen. We also have a large, enclosed garden with swings, slides, a wheelchair accessible roundabout, sensory musical toys and a sports area.  The centre has inclusive changing facilities including ceiling and mobile hoists.

The Centre can also be booked for children’s parties at weekends at the times it is not being used for SEND sessions.

Volunteering
Springboard could not be the charity it is today without the help of our fantastic volunteers. Volunteers help at both our SEND sessions and in our inclusive play centre, donating their time to support the children and young people or helping with gardening, cleaning and admin.
