The Red Deer – Review

After a lovely business networking event at Lello: Networking based at Mungo’s Bar, all of us here at Love Horsham were invited for a spectacular meal at The Red Deer.

As soon as you walk into the authentic pub brasserie, located on North Street, you get that instant warm reception from the amazing staff that are there at your beck and call, with smiles intact.

What stood out to us was within seconds of being seated, we were asked if anyone in our party had any allergies or intolerances, which was really reassuring. The general atmosphere of The Red Deer was so comfortable and mellow with the right balance of excitement, leaving you wanting more.

Between us, we had an array of tantalising food from their huge variety available on their standard menu. Among the starters were Chicken Liver Parfait, Wild Mushroom Tart and Potted Cornish Crab. For mains, Sticky Beef with Coconut Rice, Malabar Fish Curry and Coq Au Vin. Although we may not have needed them, we also had desserts such as Pistachio Souffle and Chocolate Orange Mousse Cup, and yes, they were all mouth-wateringly tasty.

As one of our Love Horsham Partners and arguably Horsham’s answer to The Ivy, The Red Deer is a culinary treasure trove and perfect for a family meal out, civilised ‘work do’ or even a few drinks in their outdoor area.

This year has all been about getting back to normal – and that is indeed the case for the Probus Club of Horsham Arun. Nearly 40 Club members and guests met in September for their annual BBQ at the White Horse pub in Maplehurst on a day of mixed sunshine and showers. And the Club well and truly lived up to the saying.
