Try Something New!

Scottish Country Dancing in Horsham and Crawley.

After more than a year of virtual events, Scottish country dancers are back enjoying dancing and would like to encourage newcomers to join them and give it a go. Not only is it good exercise but also fun and friendship and all you need is a pair of soft shoes to start. You can get fit without realising it! Just come by yourself – no need to bring a partner as everyone mixes with everyone else, with a new partner for every dance. The weekly cost is £3 or £3.50 for 2 hours, depending on which club you choose, is reasonable too.

There are two clubs locally, both affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Crawley meets are on a Thursday 8pm at Milton Mount Community Hall, Milton Mount Avenue, Pound Hill RH10 3DY while Horsham meets are on a Monday 8pm at the Millennium Hall, Crawley Road, Roffey, RH12 4DT.

It is preferable for you to let them know that you are coming so that they can put on some easy dances for you. You can check the videos on the websites to see what Scottish country dancing is – it is not ceilidh dancing.

There are opportunities to dance with other clubs on a Saturday or visit clubs anywhere in the world for a warm welcome. There isn’t a children’s class in this area.

If you’re interested you can visit the two websites www.crawleyscdc.org.uk and www.horshamscdc.org.uk and we have a ‘contact us’ page where you can email on either enquiries@crawleyscdc.org.uk or enquiries@horshamscdc.org.uk

So why not send us an email now?

The clubs are small but belong to a worldwide organisation as can be seen by watching this video -
